Professional Blog – Joe Lambert

Happy New Year to everyone, I hope this year is a great golfing year for you all. The season is now approaching swiftly upon us and it won’t be long before we are playing golf in just our t shirts once more which I am sure we are all looking forward to! I would firstly like to begin by congratulating the green keepers on their hard work over the winter period in presenting us with a playable golf course in very wet difficult conditions. I am sure everyone will agree with me when I say what a great job they have done over the last few months. Hopefully the weather this Spring will be kind in aiding good growth and the green keepers can continue on improving the course even further this year. Our new course manager Steve has implemented some excellent changes with many more to come.

We look forward to the new layout of the Wensum Course; in addition the introduction of some new tee positions, all hopefully will be finished later in the year.

I would personally like to thank everyone for your patience throughout this very cold spell, in respecting the course closures. Closing due to the frost and inclement weather is protecting the course from damage which will aid better condition golf courses for the spring and summer to come.

It will not be long before our Myhill, Cullington, Barnard, Gillieson and club matches commence once again so good luck to our teams this year.

Don’t forget to visit the Pro Shop for everything you need to get you through this winter period! Our Wensum Valley logo hats and mittens are great quality, and are really worth the purchase. We also have great deals on Titleist bags, all golf balls and much much more. Pop in and speak to one of the team for anything you require; we are here to help.

I am performing my ‘GET INTO GOLF’ courses again this year which commence in March which provide teaching the basics of golf to be able to have a leisurely game after just 4 weeks! The courses run for 4 weeks and are only £20. They are the perfect way to get family members or friends into the game and the courses are always enjoyable and it’s a great way to meet other beginners. All the course dates are on the ‘GetIntoGolf’ website or alternatively you can ring or text me on 07796632931 or the main switchboard number of 01603 261012.

Last but not least a quick congratulations to both Tom Maxwell and Ross Hudson, for turning professional this year and I am sure we all wish them the best of luck in their golfing careers.

I wish everybody the best of luck in the new golfing season!
